The seventh in a series of plenary meetings of the Global Microbial Identifier initiative is being organised by the Food and Environment Research Agency (Fera), UK, on behalf of the Food Standards Agency (FSA), UK and the GMI Steering Committee. The meeting will be held at Sand Hutton, York, UK on the 11-12 September 2014.
The event will include continuing the business of the five working groups, presentations by international experts, posters and an exhibition, and aims to review GMI progress against the objectives, refresh the strategy, knowledge exchange, networking and facilitate integration across international borders.
The meeting agenda and scientific contents are being finalised by the GMI2014 Scientific Committee. For up-to-date information on the programme, poster submission, sponsor and exhibitor opportunities, deadlines, social event, please visit the dedicated GMI2014 webpage within the Fera website.
The event is free of charge but you have to register to attend. Places are limited and registration will be opened on a "first come, first served" basis from 10 April till 1 September via the GMI2014 webpage. Given the global scope of the initiative non-GMI members are welcome to participate and contribute to the meeting. However, if the event is oversubscribed, preference will be given to GMI members.
Fera’s Organising Committee will make all the necessary transport arrangements for the delegates from hotels in York to Sand Hutton on the mornings of the 2 meeting days and to return to York at the end of each day. The Organising Committee has also reserved a number of hotel rooms in York for the delegates to book at a discounted rate.
