About the GMI Proficiency Test 2015

This inter-laboratory performance test is provided to facilitate harmonization and standardization in whole genome sequencing and data analysis, with the aim to produce comparable data.

Working Group 4 of the Global Microbial Identifier (GMI) network has launched the GMI proficiency test (PT) 2015, which covers next-generation sequencing with a focus on the analysis of Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.

In 2014, a pilot PT was conducted. Currently, a full roll out of the PT is in progress, focusing on testing the quality of sequencing bacteria and DNA hereof as well as cluster analysis on sets of genomes. Data from the PT will be available for analysis in the autumn of 2015.

Sign-up for the GMI PT 2015 is now closed.
